Markus giebel

Markus Giebel was the CEO of Deyaar Development PJSC, a public traded real estate company listed on the DFM (Dubai Financial Market) until mid-2010.

Challenging times bring opportunities. A lack of new construction in many markets globally will boost the performance of existing prime properties and simultaneously provide tremendous opportunities for investors and developers.

Until 2004 Mr. Giebel was as a senior executive of Corning, a Fortune 500 firm headquartered in the US. In 2002 he became the youngest Vice President of Corning after the successful acquisition of Siemens NK valued at US$ 1.5 billion.

Throughout his career, Mr. Giebel was presented with several awards and distinctions, including the CEO Award of the Middle East (2010), the Leadership Award of the Middle East (2010), the INSEAD case study (2009), the Business Award from the German Ministry of Economic Affairs (2004) and other honours.

He was awarded over 25 patents and holds a Masters’ degree in Business Administration from the Switzerland Business School, and a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Munich in Germany.
